Order of Leviathan

The Order of Leviathan, established in 2009, is a preeminent organization for men and women of recognized quality and integrity without regard to race, creed, religion, or gender. Consistently delivering leadership and encouragement to other pirate groups, and exemplifying a moral code founded on the highest standards of ethics, honesty, and strength of character. The Order of Leviathan is committed to true camaraderie and goodwill to all. Dedicated to involving, helping build, and supporting likeminded groups, charities, families, friends, and members of the
pirate subculture community.

Order of Leviathan a private membership order of pirates. All Members have been nominated and elected from within The Pirate Community. All are Righteous Pirates who have done their community Proud.. The Order opens doors every two year to new members through their home port Mutiny Magazine.

Jeff was elected into the Order in 2009 as one of the Original 13 Leviathans known as “The Devil's Dozen Pirate Lords” and served as the Grand Leviathan from 2010-2014. He now serves as a Master Leviathan advising the current Leadership. Rebecca was a two time nominee 2012 and 2014 and was Inducted into the Order in 2014.

The goal of the Order is to encourage camaraderie and involvement amongst the piratical social and entertainment groups at pirate-themed events, festivals, and gatherings. Expanding their presence and involvement in supporting local communities and charities.

Being examples of leadership in educating, promoting, and building upon the historical and fictional pirate subculture for future years to come. To support, promote and maintain quality pirate-themed events worldwide.

The Order of Leviathan is committed to upholding the highest standards when it comes to its charity work. The 2014 – 2016 Order of Leviathan sponsored charity is The Luna Project.

The Symbolism of the Order of Leviathan Logo being a Skull encompassed by the Sea Serpent (Leviathan) is that the Skull represents the pirate subculture whereas the Serpent represents strength and a formidable presence. The scales of the serpent represent the members.  

2015 Mutiny Magazine Pirate of the Year

Captain MacKay was awarded Mutiny Magazine's Pirate of the Year, March 5th, at the Order of Leviathan Induction Ceremony held in St. Augustine, Florida. This prestigious award is presented to only the most outstanding Pirate for past contributions to the Pirate Community. Jeff is in good company with past recipients; Talderoy, Swatton, and Oderless and he considers this his Pirate Lifetime Achievement Award.
